In the good ol' days, you had at least 2 - 3 raves to choose from every weekend. It made the parties alot better as each promoter had to try and offer you the best night out. It forced the promoters to make the parties better in order to entice you to go to theirs, even though, the majority of ravers managed to ettend each one in a night. It also kept prices down to a realistic level. Personally, I think that the scene needs a little FRIENDLY competition to boost it back to where it was. These days, promoters have gotten greedy and will charge you an arm or a leg for a night out only worth 1/2 as much.
What if you want to see someone play but because there's only one party, there's only a certain amount of room for DJ slots, or that particular party isn't playing your favourite style of music, or it's in Fucknuckle Town, or it's too expensive.... Alot of people will miss out on the oppertunity of a good night out and eventually piss off and leave the scene alltogether. If there were more to choose from, there is a greater chance of more people finding something that they will enjoy.
I remember how cool and convenient it was when one night in the city, on the same street, same suburb and same night, there were 2 raves on at the same time and were about 200 metres apart. When one DJ came on that you weren't into, you just went to the other rave and vice versa.
What do you think?
